Who we are
Tutorman is operated by Leo Hokkanen, trading as Tutorman, ABN 68 262 311 065, of PO Box 668, Biggera Waters QLD 4216, Australia. Our website is tutorman.com. You can contact us about privacy at leohokkanen@gmail.com.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, we also aim to meet the standards of the General Data Protection Regulation.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the business. In practice that is four things.
Contact details. Your name and email address when you fill in a form, request the Free Business Blueprint, or join our email list.
Order details. What you bought, when, at what price, and your billing details, when you buy through our store.
Account details. Your username and email address if you create an account to access a product.
Usage information. Pages visited, approximate location by country, device and browser type, collected through analytics. This is not linked to your name.
We do not collect or store your full card number. Payments are handled by our payment providers and card details never reach our website.
Why we collect it
To deliver what you bought or requested. To give you access to a product and to help you when something goes wrong. To send you the training and marketing emails you signed up for. To meet our tax and record keeping obligations. To understand which pages are useful so we can improve them.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
Who we share it with
We share only what a supplier needs to do its job. The services we use are listed here so you can check their own privacy terms.
Hostinger, our web host and email platform, which stores the website and sends our email. WooPayments and PayPal, which process payments. Google, through Analytics and Search Console, which tells us how the site is used. Google Workspace, which handles our email inbox.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. By using this website you agree to that transfer. We choose providers that publish their own privacy and security terms.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
Artificial intelligence
We use artificial intelligence tools behind the scenes to draft replies and organise our own material. A human reads and approves anything before it reaches you. We do not use these tools to make decisions about you, and we do not feed your personal information into them to train any model.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them to keep your shopping cart working, to keep you logged in, and to count visits through analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block them, the cart and the login will stop working properly.
Pages on this site embed videos from YouTube. When you play one, YouTube may set its own cookies and collect data under Google’s privacy terms, not ours.
Marketing emails
We email you only if you asked us to, or if you bought something from us. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works with one click. Unsubscribing is immediate and we will not ask you why.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop emails you need, such as your purchase receipt or your product access details.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for seven years, because Australian tax law requires it. Email list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Account details are kept while your account is open. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our analytics account and is not tied to your name.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Email leohokkanen@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days.
We cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, such as tax records for a completed sale. We will tell you if that applies.
Security and data breaches
We protect your information with encrypted connections, restricted access, and providers that maintain their own security standards. No system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise.
If a breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Children
Our products are for adults in business. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we hold information about a child, email us and we will delete it.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email leohokkanen@gmail.com with the detail and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We update this policy when our business or the law changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last reviewed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
